Privacy policy
Short version: we keep as little as possible. No name, no password, no browsing history. Your lists stay yours, and you can delete everything with one button.
What we store
- An anonymous account, made automatically the first time you open the app: a random ID, and for each of your devices a random key. We only keep a scrambled (hashed) copy of each key.
- Your lists: deals you heart (My list), things you buy, your wish list, items you tell us you bought (for price protection), currencies and flights you watch, and the area you chose, so they can sync between your devices. To look up prices for your wish list and bought items, only the item names are used, never your account.
- Your details, only if you add them: your first name (to greet you), email and mobile number, and how you'd like to get your alerts (app notification, email or text). Used only to contact you about your alerts and account.
- Visit statistics from our host: Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page visits, countries and loading speed without cookies and without identifying you.
- Anonymous usage counts: how many times a day each page is opened and which kinds of deals are tapped (for example "Food deal tapped"), how fast the app loads, and how many devices opened it that day. These are totals only: no account, no IP address, nothing you type. If your browser sends "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control, we count nothing.
- Technical logs kept briefly by our host (Cloudflare) to run the service and stop abuse, such as the IP address of failed device-link attempts, which we delete within an hour.
What we do not store
- Your browsing history, other websites you visit, or what you buy.
- Payment details (we take none).
- Your location: the area you pick is a region name you choose, not GPS.
How we use it
Only to run the app for you: show your lists on your devices, and (if you turn them on) send you alerts and reports. We never sell or share your information, and we do not use advertising trackers.
Where it is kept
On Cloudflare's servers (Cloudflare D1), which may be outside New Zealand. Things you keep only on your phone stay on your phone.
Your rights
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you can ask to see or correct what we hold. You can delete your account and everything stored for it at any time: Account → Delete my account and data. It takes effect straight away.
