Terms of use

BetaDeals shows NZ deals and checks whether discounts are real. By using it you agree to these terms.

Prices change

We read stores' prices a few times a day. Prices, stock and offers change, and some deals will be missed or out of date. Always check the price on the store's site before you buy. We do not sell anything; purchases are between you and the store.

How we grade deals

Grades (Grab it, Good price, Discount not confirmed and so on) are our opinion, based on the evidence shown under "Why this grade?": other stores' prices and price history we have recorded. "Usually" and "lowest in 90 days" describe past prices, not a promise about the future. Currency and flight information is general information, not financial advice.

Free and Pro

BetaDeals is free to use. Every new account gets Pro free for its first 30 days, with no card needed. After that you can keep the free version or subscribe to Pro (NZ$2.99 a month or NZ$30 a year). Pro renews automatically until you cancel; when you cancel, Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. Nothing here limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act or the Fair Trading Act. What each plan includes is listed on the Pro page in the app and may change; we'll tell you before anything you've paid for is reduced.

"Possible sale" hints

When we say Possible sale in 5 weeks (or similar), we are only going by when that store or a big shopping event has had sales in past years. It is a hint, not a promise: a sale may not happen, may start on a different date, or may not include the item you want. Don't rely on it to decide whether to buy.

Independence and advertising

Stores never pay to rank or to change a grade. If we earn a commission from a link, that link is marked Ad link. We never replace links that other people or sites have set.

Fair use

Don't try to break, overload or copy the service in bulk.

Liability

The service is provided as is. Nothing here limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act or the Fair Trading Act.
